Resource Ideas
Here I will compile ideas for non-curricular style teaching resources. Come back frequently to see what new treasures I have found.
National Geographic LIttle Kids is a new bi-monthly magazine for children from 3 to 6. I laminate my copy and let the kids at it without worrying about damage or soiling. (More or less RM12)
National Geographis Kids is a website and magazine with lots of fascinating content.
Horrible Science is a bi-weekly magazine for kids from about 6? You can contact the local distributor and buy the entire set for a good discount. It’s really worth every penny. (RM9.90)
Wikipedia is awesome! If you don’t know it, you gotta check it out NOW!
The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s page features a new piece of art everyday. I love visiting and checking it out. You can also use the search tool to look up different genres and artists.
Manchester Art Galleries. I lived in Manchester for a few weeks and fell in love with the vibrant art scene.
Kenn Nesbitt’s Poetry4Kids. He writes some of the lyrics for Eric Herman’s songs for children. We ADORE Snow Day. There are also simple exercises to introduce children to poetry writing.
